Okay so I play softball and I have a problem. In practice, I can REALLY hit the ball. Over the outfielders heads everytime. But in games I don't know what happens, I get so stiff and nervous and just sike myself out and end up striking out. How can I relax myself, and hit it like I do in practice? How to hit like I do in practice?
take dry swings at home so that you get the muscle memory down and when your up at the plate, it'll all just become second nature. takes about 30 days of repetition for your muscles to memorize the motion. and striking out isnt the worst, when you get back to the bench just go thru the at bat again in your head and figure out what you did wrong so that next time, maybe you wont chase the low and away pitch or the hgih fastball. and just try and clear your head at the plate, you wont hit the ball if ur thinking about a million other things just focus on the pitchers release point and the track of the ballHow to hit like I do in practice?
Its hard to do, but you have to try and stay relaxed and focused. try this. when you go up to hit in a game, have a really loose grip on the bat. maybe even wiggle your fingers. now obviously your grip will have to tighten as you swing but starting like that might help you stay relaxed and loose.
Before your at bat, take a couple deep breaths and try to relax. That helps me when I psych myself out.
Try to relax. thats what i do
