How to delete an unallocated partition in windows 7?

hey so i accidently made unallocated partition when i was installing backtrack 4 and now i need to delete them because i cant use the space and its taking up about 40gb

so i need to make an actual partition inside that unallocated space is what ive been told so when i click on new simple volume inside the unallocated space i get this error:

you cannot create a new volume in this unallocated space because the disk already contains the maximum amount of partitions

So what do i do to delete it/ put it back on the c: drive?

i really need the space

Thanks in advancedHow to delete an unallocated partition in windows 7?
The limit for simple partitions on one disk is 4.

An easier method would be to use ';expand volume'; on the volume immediately before the unallocated space.

This will increase the size of an existing partition by 40GBs - so you'll get your space back.

You must do this on the partition immediately BEFORE the unallocated space (i.e. to the left of the gap).

You can do this in the Disk Management console in Windows 7.How to delete an unallocated partition in windows 7?
Try extending one of the other partitions, if that doesn't work then you will have to delete one of your other partitions and then you can create and extended partition with all of the unused space. Then with the extended partition you can create as many partitions within the extended partition as you want.

sorry if that is confusing.
