Has anyone taught English in Asia? How is it like? How competitive is it to land the job?

Do degree requirements matter?Has anyone taught English in Asia? How is it like? How competitive is it to land the job?
Officially you do need a graduate degree, but many do get an English teaching job without a degree especially when they are white skinned.Has anyone taught English in Asia? How is it like? How competitive is it to land the job?
Well, Asia is a big place, and the answer will vary a lot in different countries.

I am teaching in China. You do need a college degree, in any subject. If you have a degree and you are a native English speaker, you should have no problem getting a job in China. The actual experience varies a lot from school to school, you could be teaching at a kindergarten or teaching adults. There are many different opportunities. Send me a message if you want to know more.
There are LOTS of jobs in Asia right now if you look in the right place and still a demand for teachers depending on which country you're looking at.

For example, in Japan right now it's getting harder to find work, but in China there are still loads of jobs about.

In general you'll need a degree (although there are still possibilities if you do not have this) and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate to get a visa and work. The TEFL certificate can be taken either in-house or online at your own pace which is a much cheaper option.
